This week – a Tale of two Astronauts! 

On Wednesday I was delighted to attend the fantastic presentation to schoolchildren at the Halo by Dr Kate Rubins, microbiologist and NASA astronaut, who had also taken part in the International Space Station ISS downlink which Prestwick Academy took part in during the pandemic.

It was then great to see the safe launch & rendezvous with the ISS of the crew including Commander Jasmin Moghbeli and Pilot Andreas Mogensen who I met at NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Lab when I gave a talk about Scotland’s Space Industry at Houston Spaceport.

It may seem like taking coals to Newcastle but, while NASA’s attention is on going back to the Moon and then to Mars, Scotland’s strength is making small Earth Observation satellites to study and help protect the beautiful blue planet we live on!
