  • Parliamentary Question on UK – Australia Free Trade Deal 17/6/21

I asked the UK Trade Secretary about the threat of importing antibiotic fed meat from Australia where famers can still use antibiotics to promote growth in their animals. The EU banned this practice in 2006 due to the risk of antimicrobial resistance, which is one of the world’s greatest health risks.

Sadly, the Secretary of State doesn’t appear to know the difference between HORMONES and ANTIBIOTICS!!!

This deal will undermine the high food standards we adhere to and high quality produce our farmers here in Scotland produce, as well as our future health.
