Face Coverings Help Prevent the Spread of Covid-19
With the gradual easing of lockdown, it is increasingly important that we wear face coverings to keep each other safe!
These don’t need to be surgical masks but a covering made from cloth or other textiles which can cover both your mouth and nose, such as a scarf.
I would encourage everyone to wear a face covering when out and about, particularly in smaller shops and when travelling on public transport, where keeping a 2-metre gap from others may at times prove difficult.
As people are often infectious before they have symptoms, wearing a face covering can help prevent transmission of the virus.
A few things to remember:
- Wash your hands before applying and removing the covering.
- After each wear, wash the covering at 60 degrees centigrade or dispose of it safely.
- Face coverings should not be used for children under the age of two years.
Are you wearing yours?
