In a debate on 13 September, I asked the Minister for assistance for a constituent trapped in Afghanistan:

My question: what about UK citizens and UK residents who are trapped? My case is of a woman with three tiny daughters who is stranded having cared for a relative and got caught by covid, and now she does not know what to do. How do I get help for her?

The Minister invited me to speak with her after the debate. During that discussion, she invited me to follow up with an email with the constituent’s details.

It is vital that assistance is given to U.K. citizens and UK residents to escape the dangerous situations they are now caught up in.

Despite engaging with the minister, no progress has been made and my constituents are still trying to get home.
